
The Press Trust of India has challenged the constitutional validity of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, arguing that the government has introduced “vague conditions” such as ‘good taste’, ‘decency’, and prohibition of ‘half-truths’, which are not clearly defined within the framework of the IT Act, 2000.
