A glacier burst in Raini area of Chamoli in Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand on Sunday damaged the Tapovan- Vishnugad hydropower plant. A flood of water was seen gushing down the Ganga river. A high alert has been sounded from Chamoli to Haridwar. Chief minister Trivendra Rawat is expected to make an aerial survey shortly and has convened an emergency meeting.
